One Financial Plaza, today home of Stifel Financial, was built by Edison Brothers Stores to serve as its headquarters. The retailer moved to the new tower from the building that’s now Gallery 400 apartments.

The Cotton Belt Building, 111 N. 4th Street – built 1894 as the Planters Hotel, demolished 1976

Ted Jones’ daily commute from Williamsburg, Missouri to the Cotton Belt Building was 90 miles each way.
